There is a chance of some snow in Cheshire, Staffordshire tomorrow from the trough.. After this there is a risk of another trough on Monday.

In terms of the past few weeks your area has done unusually well. Wasn’t it a sweet spot in 2000-2006 too? Before the north westerlies turned more marginal & easterlies kind of returned.

Euro4 accumulation map shows reasonable accumulation in NW Staffordshire, W Derbyshire, Cheshire, Gtr Mcr areas. Sleet, wet snow and hail accumulation on the coast and a transitiin to snow 6-10 miles inland is my interpretation of this. Less of a maritime layer tonight due to light winds hence the above.

Hopeful thinking but I think it’s one or the other – the trough will produce falling air limiting convection. At least we will pay for the trough with limited convection.
