Weight loss was related not only to the duration of the diet, but also to duration of exercise in men.
The study concluded that the effects of diet and exercise on body weight were not influenced by other dietary or lifestyle factors when adjusting for these factors.
The participants in the study were advised for several years to follow a well-diet and low-level physical activity. This seems to have had some positive impact on the weight of men and women who were followed for several years.
